Keyword Search Feature to be Introduced to Threads

Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg has confirmed that a long-awaited feature, a keyword search function, is soon to be introduced to Threads. Up to this point, the search box has only been useful for user account searches. The keyword function, which is currently being tested in Australia and New Zealand, is essential for Threads to compete with platforms like X/Twitter for real-time public conversations. Despite lacking some functionalities like a TweetDeck equivalent, the new feature could potentially help Threads regain its formerly high user numbers. Meta, which has recently introduced a full web version and a chronological feed of posts to Threads, has stated it is working on more feature enhancements in response to community feedback.
