Bytedance, The Creator Of Tiktok, Is Considering Leaving The Mainstream Video Game Industry

ByteDance, the company behind TikTok and parent to Nuverse, the producer of Marvel Snap, is reportedly abandoning the mainstream video game industry. According to Reuters, ByteDance is discontinuing the development of unreleased game titles and may sell its existing ones as it refocuses its gaming strategy on casual games like those found on TikTok.
 
Despite the substantial implications of this news, ByteDance currently has no intentions of re-entering the global video game market. However, in an attempt to alleviate fears, Nuverse has used the X platform to reassure fans that the future of Marvel Snap will not be impacted by this decision. 

Responding to concerns raised by fans about structural changes at Nuverse, the company stated, “SNAP will continue to operate and flourish in the future, regardless of any changes at Nuverse!” As for other games in ByteDance's portfolio, their future is currently uncertain.
