Tomb Raider 1-3 Remastered removes Lara Croft posters previously highlighted as an Easter egg

Recently, fans of the Tomb Raider remastered series noticed that the pin-up style posters of Lara Croft, which had been part of a notable Easter egg in Tomb Raider 3, were no longer present in the remastered graphical mode. These posters, situated in the "Sleeping with the Fishes" level, were removed from the game months after its initial release, with no formal communication or update noted in the patch notes.

Interestingly, while the posters have been eliminated from the remastered mode, they are still visible when players choose to play in the original graphical setting. The official Tomb Raider website had previously highlighted these posters as an engaging detail to discover, among other game secrets relating to Crystal Dynamics and their game, Legacy of Kain.

Launched on February 14th, coinciding with Lara Croft's birthday, Tomb Raider 1-3 Remastered is available on multiple platforms, including PC, PlayStation 4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S. Despite the controversy, the remastering did include a disclaimer about "racial and ethnic content," mentioning a decision to maintain the original content without alterations.

The changes in the remastered versions and their potential impacts on fans' reception remain a topic of discussion, prompting inquiries to both Crystal Dynamics and remaster developer Aspyr for further clarification.
